Hello, friends!
I’ve been away several months now and appreciate how many people checked on me and let me know my writings are missed. I’m sure you’ve found other ways to tune into the astrology and that’s a good thing! My thoughts are but a drop in an ocean of free astrology content.
I’ve had severe writer’s block lately, which is part of the reason for my absence. As many weeks as it’s taken to put this together, it’s likely my last newsletter of the year. So it is long and broad in scope. To keep the message digestible, I’ve broken it message into 3 short parts. Look for Parts II and III in the days ahead.
Also, please go back and listen to your last 1:1 session with me. I know you’re busy, but you can listen while folding laundry, driving or meal prepping. Clients who’ve done that recently were surprised how much they’d forgotten and how many things I said that felt relevant today.
Now let’s put context around what’s been happening…
The Virgo Eclipse & Aries Full Moon
The event characterizing this and next year – the Saturn-Neptune conjunction – is as palpable as it could be now. Just turn on the news and you’ll hear some questionable rendition of why the world’s falling apart.
Though the full story unfolds over much longer timeframe, the peak energies of the Saturn-Neptune alignment span a 13-month period (March 2025 through April 2026) that is now half over. In fact, the September 21st New Moon Eclipse marked the midway point quite emphatically. It signaled important turning points, changes, and realizations for many of us.
First of all, the Virgo Solar Eclipse opposed Saturn. Saturn draws our attention to some place where we feel blocked, limited, stagnant, frustrated or disappointed. The eclipse made us get serious and question how we might get to a better place from here. It was a reality check to those of us dealing with circumstances / situations that threaten to prevent us from reaching our desires.
Then in true Virgo fashion, the mind launched into overdrive. There’s a strong impulse to figure things out so we can decide how to move forward. But our initiative often takes a back seat at eclipse time because:
- When the Sun or Moon get obstructed from view, it symbolizes that there’s more going on than we can see yet; and
- Eclipses are when fate does its behind-the-scenes work. More things than usual will be outside our control, forcing us to honor a timeline / story that may not align with the one in our heads.
The Mars-Pluto square and Aries Full Moon amped things up further. A large dose of EMOTION has been woven into this analytical fury. If you’ve been fired up about something but still holding your tongue, that’s probably a good thing. Mars in Scorpio is helping you discern a more strategic way forward.
Opportunities Ahead
You’ll be glad to know that things lighten up the second half of October. But why have things felt so intense?
Well in addition to the eclipses, Venus spent the past few weeks in Virgo. With Venus in Virgo, we’re prone to picking things apart and gathering evidence of what’s not working. That’s useful in some contexts. But the tendency to flaw-find gets painful when we’re dissecting ourselves, another person, or our relationship with them.
To the extent relationship themes have stirred for you lately – be it a friend, family member, boss, partner, child, or anyone close to you – know that Venus in Virgo does not enhance our diplomacy. We may mean well but we cannot rely on Venus in Virgo for the tact necessary to smooth things out.
Luckily, the opportunity to effectively handle relationship matters is just around the bend. If you need to address issues with another person, try doing so after October 13th. The planets will favor moving through the hard stuff and, in the end, turning challenges into relationship gold. To the extent your dealing with something that’s not worth salvaging, clarity is on the horizon for you too. Either way, I like what the rest of October promises.
Astrologer Stormie Grace said something recently that I wanted to share too. She said the questions we should ask ourselves now are:
- How can I stand in my own light without casting shadow on another?
- How can I be truthful and authentic without causing damage?
The energies invite you to evolve your capacity to relate to others this beautiful way, not just in October, but in much of November too.
Stay tuned for Part II, where we discuss the bigger picture and more of what you can expect these next few months…
xo,
Jules
