Hi, friends.
I’ve spent the last month studying the astrology of 2023 and am up to my eyebrows in dates and info. The bones have poked through the skin on my fingertips as I write this. My conclusion is this: we are each headed into brand new territory in 2023. Felt like we lived March 2020 for years, right? Not anymore.
That said, your newsletter is shorter than usual. Not because less is going on…
So much is happening that I’m spending my time preparing for the January 12th workshop and creating the ASTROLOGICAL CALENDAR FOR YOUR ENTIRE YEAR AHEAD, which I’ll distribute there. Please sign up for the workshop. You can attend live or on your own time by recording. I’ve never created a more high-value offering than this one.
My calendar is unlike anything you’ve seen. I’ve flipped the bird to Gregorian style and divided 2023 into 13 unequal segments, which more truly reflect the vibratory segments of our year. The tides don’t turn because it’s the first of the month! My calendar shows real change, when the energy moves and how.
“It’s January 1” you say, “I don’t need to know about December.” Actually, you might. The beginning of our year is powerful. Don’t sleep on its potential. Once you look at July, September, October you’ll see why.
I put so much heart into these newsletters. But a July 1st email telling you that Venus will go retrograde doesn’t help if you’re packed for a 3-week trip to Europe. Do the workshop and arrange the year to align with your goals.
Now a bit about January.
The last few days of December brought us moments of intensity and passion. Venus and Pluto have been working toward an exact conjunction which happens January 1st. This planetary combo bears the potential for both pleasurable and deeply challenging feelings. You may find yourself going to the extreme with a pleasure – drinking too much, overeating, overspending. There could be grief, loss and pain in relationships, as well as moments of healing, cleansing, and renewal. At best, Venus-Pluto brings the capacity for handling heavy situations with grace and kindness.
The Venus-Pluto cycle is beautiful, though it requires us to visit the depths of darkness at times. I’ve earned the badge to say it, as Venus-Pluto is a highlighted aspect of my birth chart. I’ve found this planetary relationship to be all about the transformative power of love. Relationships are truly the sacred ground upon which we do our deepest healing – healing that happens in the heart space. Haven’t you seen someone totally reborn, even blossoming, after experiencing a breakup or death? Doesn’t love ask us to accept our own shadow, forgive others’ transgressions, and contend with the love-hate paradox that accompanies passion?
Venus-Pluto finally reminds us that heart connections, once made, can never be broken. They merely transform into new shapes, phases, and forms. The Venus-Pluto conjunction January 1 signifies the death of the old form and the birth of a new one in your life. That’s perfect for the new year, right?
As January moves on, Mars continues retrograde until January 12th. This means that though you’re bombarded with visions and ideas about all you want to do and accomplish, it’s hard to feel you’re making progress. Accept the first couple weeks of January as an idea generation phase. Understand that if you can’t work at executing tasks very well, then that’s not what you’re meant to be doing.
DO: tread water, make lists of your brilliant ideas and goals, and attend the workshop (yeah I plugged it again).
Taking planetary speed and Mercury retrograde into account, our physical and mental pace will increase in the latter days of January. And that’s okay. We’re in a “creative launch period” and as with all phases of life, it has purpose worth sitting in for a while.
What will the life you’re creating look like? Hard to tell. But one thing you’re not lacking is a headful of possibilities. For me, I could write a mile-long list of the books I want to write, the merchandise I’ll design, the business partnerships I’ll pursue, events I’ll hold, and so forth. It’s important that before you and I begin movement toward these goals, we assess things some more.
What on your list is foundational? What accomplishment would give you the most structure for accomplishing your other goals? How much of your time do you think it will take? Now double that. Do you still have time to eat, breathe, sleep, work out, shower, be a friend, lover and brother? Hmmmm.
I’ve walked you through this for a reason. The enthusiasm of Jupiter in Aries is a gift and a curse. We can easily over-commit and over-expect these next few months. The most important pointer I can give you now is to be practical and realistic. Carefully prioritize and commit to a small number of goals / changes for the year ahead. That doesn’t mean your main goal can’t be absolutely wild and far-fetched! It can be. In fact, that’s what Jupiter in Aries wants.
Maybe by the New Moon January 21st you’ll have picked one definite aim for 2023. Whatever you decide upon, know you’re supported in extremely bold, decisive action. Don’t be afraid to push the envelope, to pioneer something new and amazingly weird that only you could create.
That’s all I’ve got for now. I’m saving the juicy stuff for the WORKSHOP!!!!!!!! See you there (pretty please)! 😛
xo,
Jules
