Hello, beautiful friend.
Thanks for joining me for another monthly newsletter. I just finished watching the Astrology Podcast’s May 2024 forecast – something I look forward to every month. What’s unique about its format is that the beginning of each episode focuses on news from the past month that demonstrates how world news aligned with the astrology.
I feel a bit mind-blown at how April unfolded so literally in tune with the astrology. It’s an experience I have over and over again doing personal readings, too.
For instance, while we continue to see challenges surrounding water (e.g., flooding in Dubai, the bridge collapse), last month the US had a major positive development in federal legislation aimed to protect us from “forever chemicals” in drinking water. Past newsletters also discussed how our understanding of the universe would evolve this year. And just as the Jupiter-Uranus alignment occurred, a declaration by scientists in New York set forth a new paradigm recognizing animal consciousness (including smaller beings like insects, crustaceans and fish). It’s exciting to see the scientific community discover the sentience of our universe – a universe filled will soul and consciousness at every micro and macro level.
On a personal note, April was exciting yet challenging. The astrological weather had us in a bind, as we wanted to move ahead quickly, meanwhile forced to slow down or back up in some way. Mars-Saturn brought difficult news for some of us and illness / zapped energy for others. MAY IS MUCH DIFFERENT.
While the precise Jupiter-Uranus alignment is behind us, the fortunate developments it signaled should become more obvious and tangible throughout May.
Jupiter-Uranus signals a DIVINE DISRUPTIONFOR THE GREATER GOOD.
The moments in which divine disruption strikes our lives can feel anything from exhilarating to unpleasant. On the difficult end of that spectrum, I know you recall an event from your past which pushed you towards tremendous improvement but felt chaotic, unwanted, even harmful at first. If last month didn’t feel like it moved you the right direction, hang tight!
Also note that the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction occurred in Taurus – the sign leastamenable to change. This suggests that even the best things right now can cause temporary discomfort. I’ve felt this myself. In the face of tremendous career opportunity, I’m forced to revise the schedule and slow, steady progress I’ve grown comfortable with. For a person who thrives on change, it’s interesting to have this “want to run back home” feeling.
But my belief in the positive outcome of current events is confirmed by the oracle message I pulled for May. It’s uncanny how the random card I pulled helped me articulate my point exactly:
Once we allow a disruption to re-align our affairs, we’ll recognize and be grateful for what’s taking place. We will see what’s happening as a saving grace versus something we have to endure. This is a time for shedding restrictive influences. It is sure to be followed by profoundly positive, happiness-inducing developments. (Adapted from the “Kali Oracle” by Alana Fairchild)
The astrology calendar suggests that MOST ANY DAY THIS MONTH CAN BRING HAPPY SURPRISES AND POSITIVE DEVELOPMENTS TO YOU. While fun, luck and good news are bound to find you, move through May thoughtfully and with great intention. Write goals on paper, plan practically, stay dedicated to your grounding and spiritual practices.
Pay particular attention to the frame of time bracketing these extremely fertile dates:
There’s no month for the rest of the year with so much support, so much wind to tuck beneath your sails. This doesn’t mean your plans should be fully executed in May. Nor does it mean the rest of your year will be unproductive. It means that if there’s a move you’re inspired to take, May is time for ACTION!!! One initiating step is all that’s needed. Without limiting how this applies, think about:
ANY desire or direction you want to move in is valid. In fact, the more unorthodox, the more you chance to diverge from your usual way of things, the better. If you’re unclear how the current astrology could be useful to you, there’s a reason for that, and a one-on-one session would be helpful.
May 1
Venus square Pluto: Decreasing in potency by the time you read this, but still worth noting with another Pluto square coming May 17. Pluto helps us get to the bottom of things, exposing what lies beneath the surface. Pluto plays a critical role in psychotherapy, for example, when the goal is digging beyond our patterns / reactions / feelings and exposing the unconscious “why.” Because Venus is involved in this first square, the focus is more on Venusian matters like relationships, money, worth, and attachment issues.
Extreme feelings, intense responses, urges to regain control, and uncomfortable revelations can accompany Pluto squares. If that happens for you, it’s important to remember that something hidden (perhaps a secret or a deep psychological complex) is asking to be recognized. Consider a session with a counselor, healer, spiritual advisor or other professional who can guide you in working with the underlying energies.
May 17
Mercury square Pluto: See May 1. Also, stay alert for hidden agendas when dealing with others. Avoid manipulation and maneuvering on your own part, too, which could backfire later. The temptation to take this route isn’t always ill intent. It’s more commonly the easy way out – a way to avoid a truth we’re afraid to say.
May 19
Mars opposes the Moon on the moon’s nodal axis: If there’s one word to summarize this energy, it’s “untamed.” The energy surrounding this date is wild, willful, aggressive and trigger-happy. Knowing this, take heed to avoid confrontation, snapping at others, road rage, etc.
Still, holding things is not the solution (and causes inflammation in the body). My advice is let it out using physical activity to expel the “heat” from your body. If you find yourself triggered, do jumping jacks, run around the block, dance, flap your arms like duck, stand up and shake it off. You’ll be poised to address the fire that was stoked if it still matters later.
I cannot leave without noting that Jupiter leaves Taurus May 25th. This is an important transition to observe, as we’ve each grown accustomed to the feel of Jupiter in Taurus for the past year. Pay attention on the 24th, 25th, 26th and see if you notice changes in your energy, mood and outlook. This should give you some clues about the year to come, which Jupiter will spend traveling through Gemini.
More on that next month. But for now, I wish you a magical month of May.
xo,
Jules
