Hi, friends.

It’s taken me awhile to get this message to you. I’ve been writing it for 5 days now and per usual with thetime between eclipses, I feel like I’m in some purgatory between past and future. Couple that with Mercury Retrograde, and my thoughts were harder to piece together than usual. 🙂

In any event, April 2024 is finally here! We’re entering a more dramatic and revolutionary month than I can remember. The weeks ahead will bring beneficial surprises and fated changes in course for us all.

There’s a lot of newness and restorative energy available as the month unfolds. We’ve now passed Easter, which (similar to Christmas) has resonance with an important astrological turning point in the year. Easter is synced with the spring equinox – when LIGHT begins to overtake DARKNESS. The Sun’s light grows with every passing day this month, symbolizing renewal and vitality.

The fine line we walk in April is balancing a massive amount of excitement,electricity and unpredictability with a necessity for caution and self-control. Let’s talk about it.

April 8: The Solar Eclipse in Aries

In the world of astrology, the spring equinox is the true new year. It’s incredible to me that the first new moon of this astrological new year is a total Solar Eclipse. Bear with me as I geek out for a moment, because the symbolism of NEWNESS goes further. This eclipse happens at the North Node, a point in the sky associated with rising up and new directions. Moreover, the eclipse happens just as the Sun hits peak power at its “exaltation degree” of 19° Aries.  

WOW! This month is THE time for bravery in the face of something new – be that a new identity, a new role, new outlook, pregnancy, partnership or life direction.

With eclipses it’s impossible to say in advance how the cards will fall. For example, when noting an eclipse hits a sensitive degree of a client’s chart, it’s hard to specify what that means though I surely know something is coming. The way one prepares is by opening up to signs from the universe about the next proper move for their journey. Since the theme of this eclipse so heavily revolves around new beginnings, my advice is:

Be courageous.
Be powerful.
Be vulnerable.
Never be afraid of starting over.

This eclipse emphasizes the topic of LEADERSHIP too. You may find yourself experiencing some leadership change at work or taking on some leadership role of your own. Let’s also be willing to be leaders on a daily basis in our partnerships, friend groups and families, at the grocery store, behind the wheel of our car, and everywhere we go.

A Chiron Connection

In addition to all I’ve said, Chiron (a lesser-known body in our solar system) is present at the exact degree of the eclipse. This indicates a few more things:

First, you may be inclined to establish a fresh start in an area of life you’ve been hurt. Revisit that old wound, as the eclipse suggests a process through which you may finally put the past to rest. That doesn’t mean the pain will be gone. But you’ll find peace with it and perhaps feel ready to open yourself up again to new experiences in that area of life.

Second, you may identify new vocational opportunities stemming from a painful part of your life story. It’s not uncommon for the most difficult aspect of one’s life to create the foundation from which they serve a purpose. Suffering creates richness, a depth of experience and personal character more powerful than any education provides. Your value doesn’t come from certifications and degrees, it comes from the wisdom of your unique journey.

April 1: Mercury Stations Retrograde

Going backwards in time for Mercury Retrograde. How appropriate.

On April 1, Mercury stations retrograde in Aries. The April 8th eclipse is in Aries. The air is full of Aries. It’s exciting, driven and pushes to reach new territory. The underlying impulse and vibe of the month reminds me of Rick Levine who says that Aries goes “ready, fire, aim.” Shouldn’t we aim before we fire?? Perhaps, but Aries doesn’t work that way.

Expect to engage in fast direction changes as the weeks ahead unfold. You may change your mind on something, redo a project, revisit an old relationship, revise plans, refine products, change software, etc. You might even start something before you clearly know what you’re aiming for! It’s okay if you find yourself executing on rough ideas right now. Go back later to refine.

April 10: A Mars-Saturn Conjunction

Mars and Saturn meet this month too. This combination will be active April 6–14 and most pronounced around the 10th. If you feel like you’re trying to drive with your emergency brake engaged, that’s Mars-Saturn. It’s a stop-go, hurry up and wait, proceed quickly but with extreme caution dynamic.

Don’t be surprised to hit a roadblock, reality check, or moment of frustration in early April. Mars-Saturn will demand your discipline and patience somewhere this month. There will be a point where each of us must separate ourselves from our desires / emotions and regain composure. Mars-Saturn teaches us that self-control is not a virtue, it’s a winning strategy.

The paradox of all I’ve said isn’t lost on me. A Mars-Saturn conjunction is usually difficult but particularly so when you’ve got a boatload of excitable, erratic energy present at the same time. It’s possible that different aspects of your life will fall under different sections of this newsletter.

The Social Aspect of Mars-Saturn

The Mars-Saturn cycle is of upmost importance on a social level, too. The sign in which those planets meet – which changes every few years – tells us something about the struggles of society during that period. In COVID years, the planets met in the sign of Aquarius, bringing with them issues of social distancing. From March 2023 through February 2026, our issues as a society stem from new topics connected with the sign Pisces.

Pisces relates to water, so we’ll continue to see issues and conflict arise over water and waterways. Pisces also relates to belief systems. Conflicting ideologies and arguments with religious, moral or ethical undertones are highlighted. Pisces forces us to confront the existential hardship of being human. We each have our own unique truth, our own concept of reality, but must live in a world together. Ten different people watching the same person fall from a chair will recount a different story from their own unique vantage point.

Our aim now is acknowledging the difficulty of allowing others their own viewpoint. Then we must try to do better, to muster compassion, no matter how unfathomable that other perspective is to you.

April 20: The Jupiter-Uranus Conjunction

Drumroll please…!!!!!

Astrologers have awaited this planetary meeting for so long that it’s hard to believe we’re here. I touched on it in March as these planets already entered activation range. Consider re-reading the section of last month’s newsletter titled “Seeing Growth in the Seeds You’ve Planted” if you can. The exact conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus happens April 20. As the 20th draws near, expect the unexpected.

Jupiter-Uranus signals things leaping forward in major, unpredictable ways and directions. From March into May, dramatic developments will continue to occur in whatever house Taurus occupies in your natal chart. This will be emphatically powerful for people with important Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius placements natally.

Still, I’d be shocked for anyone to tell me that nothing changed for them in April. Yet It’s possible for something significant to fly under your radar. We rarely appreciate the scope and meaning of what’s happening when it’s a simple thought or chance conversation that sparks some future development. Keep your eyes and ears open all month long!

April’s Oracle

There is rarely a time more potent with shifts, advancement and innovation than we have right now. Depending on your personal nature, months like April can feel chaotic. In that case I can only hope your knowledge of the astrology reassures you. Everything happening is part of an intelligent design for the highest good.
