Hi, friends.
I cannot believe that next time I write you we’ll be entering a new calendar year. A lot happened in 2023, didn’t it? What does your personal universe look like now? What are the main ways that’s different from the space you were in as you rang in the new year January 1st?
With astrology, we can easily get focused on the future – looking ahead, trying to understand and plan for what’s coming. But for me, that’s not where the soul-stirring value of astrology lies.
I prefer looking back, ruminating over how things have panned out. When I do that, the question becomes: What’s been happening in my life that was clearly part of my soul’s plan, since it was written in the stars ages ago? Seeing how things happen right in sync with the astrology evidences some phenomenal cosmic order that strengthens my trust in life. It also affirms the harder parts of my journey, which gives me peace as I work through them.
For this reason and others, I’m abbreviating the notes for December and providing a look back at the personal horoscopes written for my 2023 Calendar. You’ll be amazed at what’s happened in your life lately and how it aligns with the essence of those predictions. The horoscopes are also helpful as we enter the new year, since the planetary influences described deepen more in 2024.
As for December, we enter the month with the Sun and Mars in Sagittarius which – at the very least – gives us a bit more optimism and perspective than we had when grinding through October and November. If you’re not feeling that, know that a light is available to you somewhere beyond the cobwebs. It’s not automatic for me either, and I spend ample time getting there each morning to set the tone for my day. That’s a good thing; that’s self-love!

A Month of Perspective & (Re)Organization
Mercury enters Capricorn on December 1st, increasing our drive to “get a grip” and manage the moving pieces of our lives better. December is definitely a month for time management, short and long term alike. Several pieces of advice on that:
1 – Devote some hours to creating a schedule and do more planning than you normally do. It’s a great time for re-envisioning how you organize your days, months, and years generally speaking. Consider any new ideas that occur, which would enhance your time management and allow better space for what matters most.
2 – Regarding December itself, our month calls for thoughtful organization. Make lists, multiply ‘time required’ by 2 for each task, then see where your to-do’s and social plans really fit. The first ten days of December should be used WISELY. We are supported with favorable results and fruitful alignments with other people during that period.
3 – Give yourself grace December 11 – 15. Mercury turns retrograde that week so approach all plans, communications, details, and expectations with a grain of salt. Mercury retrogrades serve an important purpose in slowing us down and bringing into focus what needs adjustment. That’s a wonderful thing when we recognize that moving forward at warp speed, day in and day out, isn’t for the best. Bring yourself center, revise, and adjust wherever the universe shows you that’s needed mid-month.
Another unique aspect of December is the persistent involvement of Neptune throughout the second half of the month. Neptune highlights our innermost romantic notions. A beautiful thing for sure, particularly when we know that’s happening and what to do with those ideals. For instance, you may notice an increased need for soul connection, depth, dreaming and spiritual activity later this month. You might feel more creative, giving, nostalgic, thoughtful and compassionate. This bodes well for the holiday season…sometimes.
We must simultaneously stay mindful that where romanticism exists, we become more sensitive to imperfection. That’s tough, as we all know that dissatisfaction, longing, feelings of loss, hollowness, or disappointment can haunt us through the holidays. If you find yourself confronting such feelings (not everyone will) remember me and that I have them too. You are okay, you are not alone, you are part of THIS soul family. And if you dig deep, you can probably find some small gratitude, some person, or aspect of your environment to focus on. Get through the moment by fanning whatever small spark you can find into a flame of hope, purpose, and connection.
As always, there are an equal number of desirable and undesirable possibilities that can arise with Neptune so highly activated. We usually get a bit of both, so I remain confident that good news, good company, life improvements, warmth of spirit and a bit of pleasure will find you this holiday season.
Now for the juicy stuff. My hope is that these horoscopes help you reflect on how far you’ve come in 2023 AND help you determine which recent life developments will continue to deepen in 2024. PLEASE BE AWARE:
Jupiter inspires us to grow, take leaps forward, expand, explore and create big goals. Jupiter is always working in some area of your life, though which area of life that is changes pretty regularly. You’ll feel drawn to develop some new area of life with every passing year!
Jupiter entered Taurus May 16, 2023 and remains there until May 25, 2024. So beginning in May 2023, inspiration and opportunity for advancement started popping up in some particular sphere of your life. Then in September, the excitement and expansion slowed as Jupiter turned retrograde, forcing you to do the work and integrate whatever new things you’d added to your plate. Soon (December 30th) Jupiter turns direct again and will reignite expansion in those same areas through late May 2024. That means whatever positive developments were happening in your life this past summer will soon resume, and you’ll reap benefits from the fertility of Taurus for the first 5 months of 2024. YAY!
Jupiter has been / will be bringing growth, opportunity, interest and excitement to the following areas of your life:

Saturn operates much differently than Jupiter. Whereas Jupiter INSPIRES our growth, Saturn REQUIRES it. Saturn indicates which area of life in which you’re being forced to mature, get serious, be practical, and face responsibility. It sometimes feels as if the rhythm of life slows down wherever Saturn is, or that we’re denied some bit of enjoyment until we become disciplined, truly commit, and prove our ability for follow-through. Remember that with Saturn, there’s always some reward in the end. In fact, “Saturn accomplishments” are the most satisfying accomplishments we ever achieve if we simply surrender and engage in the process willingly.
As you read below, you’ll probably notice how you’ve already gotten seriousness about the areas of life described in 2023. Well, Saturn continues there for all of 2024. I find Saturn easiest to deal with when I proactively lean into the area of life affected. It’s almost as if, instead of throwing more problems my way, Saturn says “oh, okay, she’s doing the work so I’ll leave her to it.”
For instance, Saturn has been in my 8th house of taxes and debt lately. So instead of waiting for demand letters to arrive, I’m proactively checking into these things and even paying ahead of time. It’s not fun; it’s what Saturn says I have to do right now so I’m doing it. If I don’t, I’d be dealing with some big penalties later courtesy of – you guessed it – SATURN!
So beginning in March 2023 and for all of 2024, Saturn asks you for growth, maturity, responsibility, character, discipline and to rise to the occasion in the following areas of life:
ARIES
Completion; wrapping things up; leaving behind projects, relationships, old ways of living that are done and have served their purpose
Withdrawal, isolation, solitude, retreat for re-tuning your inner and spiritual connection

(Personal note for Pisces people: Saturn is moving through your sign. Life can feel melancholy, heavy, restrictive, and burdensome when this happens. Saturn’s transit through your sign isn’t easy, for sure, but there’s something to be learned here. You’re in the initial stages of building a new, more grounded and practical you with better defenses and boundaries. It’s a great time for a personal reading, therapy and adopting new tools to lean on during this temporary but important phase.)
In closing, I wish each of you a wonderful month of December and a meaningful close to 2023. Please share this message and the horoscopes above with some person you know who could benefit from the context astrology provides for better understanding what’s happening in their lives.
As a thank you for being part of my community, I’m also offering a discount on reading bundles. Anyone who schedules a reading with me for January, February or March ($150 / 1.5 hrs) can add a giftable mini-reading for a friend ($50 / 30 mins). I catch up with so many of you this time of year anyway and wanted to create an affordable way to share astrology with those you love.
