Here we are already in April. March was a time warp. Saturn changed signs after 3 years in Aquarius; Pluto changed signs after 15 years in Capricorn. These are two of our most slow-moving, heavy-hitting planets. Their movements signal the deepest and most profound life changes. And boy do I feel it! We’ve entered a fresh new landscape with a new set of advantages, potential, and challenge.
Before I get going about that, remember my upcoming relationship workshop in New Orleans on Saturday, April 8th. It’s going to be awesome. Please attend if nearby. Info here, discount code is FRIEND10.
Saturn’s shift into Pisces affects each of us uniquely depending on our chart. My calendar provides a horoscope specific to each sign. There are also general / universal affects to consider.
Saturn in Aquarius the last 3 years meant navigating life virtually, distantly. With Saturn in Pisces, we’re swimming in the sea of humanity again. And there’s something suddenly overwhelming about that. Why?
Because Saturn in Pisces tends to soften personal boundaries. The flowing energy lends itself beautifully to artistic, compassionate, and altruistic tasks. It can also be difficult. It’s more likely than not you’ll feel a mixture of both, just as I have. On one hand, client sessions have been powerful. I feel myself stepping into charts and having compassion for other viewpoints more easily. On the other hand, my mood is sensitive and easily affected. If you’ve felt vulnerable to your surroundings, other people, or overwhelming emotion lately, that’s Saturn in water sign Pisces.
Think about how your body moves in water. It’s slower, responds with delay, drifts into things and gets caught in the current easily. Over time we’ll get better at emotional boundary setting. The lesson for now is to stay aware of the space and company you’re keeping. Observe how your emotions are impacted, and prioritize your wellbeing.
Until May 20th, Mars in Cancer adds yet another emotional layer. Our physical energy is strongly affected by our feelings and family dynamics this month. My suggestion: mood adjustments as necessary. If you find yourself in a funk, STOP what you’re doing. Take 10 minutes to listen to a few songs. Do a peaceful meditation (here’s one). Do whatever it is that tends to turn your mood around. You’ll go back to the task at hand like a brand. new. person.
On top of that watery, emotional energy underlying all of April, there’s much more!
Planets in Aries are eager for movement and hungry for progress. There’s a deeper impulse within each of us that’s pushing right now – pushing for advancement, newness, freedom, and independence. Last month, our eagerness was more frustrating than helpful due to complex planetary cross currents. But this month, we get a few boosts to help us forward!
The Libra Full Moon April 6th, for instance, can help us create goal-oriented alliances. Between the 5th and 7th, open conversations with others regarding your respective aims, goals, and desires. It’s a good time for attempts to:
Then April 11th, the Sun joins Jupiter. This is one of the more exciting transits of our year. I’ve spoken on it a lot over the last few months, but this is the pivotal moment where your unique purpose (Sun) plants seeds of growth, opportunity and prosperity (Jupiter). Jupiter wants to help you advocate yourself, your mission, beliefs, and goals more than ever.
Pay attention to circumstances that arise, the people you meet, and ideas you have in the days surrounding the 11th. They have more meaning in your life moving forward than you might imagine!
Around the 13th and 14th, be cautious of two things:
The last third of April brings a very powerful eclipse and Mercury Retrograde. The timing of these events is emphatic considering how many shifts we’ve dealt with lately. Is it possible even more news, ideas, events, unexpected issues, people, and factors will come into the picture? You bet!
Mercury retrograde, standing alone, asks us to slow down, re-do, re-think, re-consider and re-vise plans before carrying them out. The fact that Mercury stops to turn around atop Uranus just after an eclipse warrants special attention. It suggests things might get shaken up and necessitate significant fixing, adjustment and RE-ARRANGING before we move forward.
This Mercury retrograde occurs in Taurus, a sign related to stability, security, resources, financial markets and commodities. Uranus brings unpredicted swings and surprises. Add the two together and you can imagine the realm of possibilities.
While each of us could sail right through this retrograde with our hats in place, there are a few things we can do:
If anything catches you off guard or requires you to totally rethink your plan, remember this message and be patient while the solution manifests in its own time.
What we are really doing at the end of April is making final adjustments as we prepare for RE-ROOTING. We’re getting ready to lay down roots that must hold us steady through this new phase of life, a long period of growth we’ve got coming. We want to lay roots in the right place, yeah? Looking further ahead, particularly to September and December this year, I foresee that whatever happens in this period will probably have very significant and beneficial meaning in the long run.
Remember that Spirit / God / the universe has your back. So say “YES” to what this month reveals. Stay tuned and you’ll see why things had to go the way they went in late April. I’m confident you’ll reflect back and find a lot of gratitude for April as time goes on.
